Types of Ozone Treatment

The blood is then mixed with two to four ounces of ozone gas which dissolves into the blood. This blood and ozone mixture is then administered to the patient via IV.
- Hi-Dose Ozone: This treatment is a more powerful method to administer larger amounts of ozone to the body. This method uses a pump and vacuum to remove blood, which is then readministered through IV once it is infused with ozone and further “cleaned” with UV light. Higher concentrations of ozone (up to 30x the amount of a single ozone treatment) are used in this procedure and it is considered one of the strongest and most effective ozone treatments. - UVBI: UBVI or Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation is a simple, painless, and safe procedure often paired with 10-pass ozone or MAH treatment. This procedure involves removing about 200cc of blood and passing the blood through a quartz cuvette where it is exposed to ultraviolet light and returned to the bloodstream. How to Prepare for IV Ozone Therapy
Make sure you speak with your Arne Wellness Center doctor before undergoing any ozone treatment. If you are recommended for this treatment, we will always start with a single ozone treatment to gauge possible herxheimer’s reactions and ensure compatibility with the body. Before an ozone therapy, prepare your body by staying hydrated the night before therapy and the day of treatment. We recommend drinking one gallon of water the day before treatment with a pinch of sea salt or coconut water. This will help prevent clotting during your treatment. Make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before and eat a healthy breakfast the morning of.
Side Effects
IV ozone therapy is considered to be a relatively safe treatment, but there are some potential side effects to lookout for.
- Accidental Inhalation: While Ozone is a useful treatment, it is a gas that is dangerous when inhaled. Accidental inhalation can cause mild headache, nausea, and vomiting.
- Herxheimer’s reaction: While most patients will leave ozone treatments feeling refreshed and energized, some patients with chronic infections may develop flu-like symptoms as a result of a die-off reaction. Some patients may also experience fatigue after the treatment but this generally resolves within a few hours to a day.
Ear Ozone Therapy
Ear infections are common, oftentimes caused by bacteria or virus and can cause pain, inflammation, dizziness, headaches, fever, and hearing troubles.
Chronic ear infections are often caused by the Eustachian tube failing to drain the fluid that builds-up within the middle ear region. Chronic ear problems can occur due to weakened immune systems and those with recurring sinus infections.

How Ozone Rectal Insufflation Works
Our nurse will first educate the patient on how to administer the rectal ozone at home- as you will receive a take home insufflation kit. We will then follow the guidelines for administration levels that have been determined by our nurse practitioner. You will then be sent home with a rectal ozone bag and all of the other components needed to administer the ozone. The bag will remain at the strength needed for 30 minutes- giving you half an hour to get home to administer. We recommend being in a comfortable setting when administering as you may have an immediate reaction to the ozone and need to use the restroom more frequently to purge parasites, clear infection, etc.
