If you’ve suffered an injury to one or more of the vertebral discs in your spine, you may be experiencing pain that leads you to believe you can only get relief through surgery. The chiropractors of Arne Wellness Center know better. Through the use of computer-controlled spinal decompression, we can correct many of the painful symptoms related to herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and more.

How does spinal decompression work?

This form of treatment works by applying traction to your spine. Through the use of a special table and computer-controlled motors, your chiropractor can set the precise angle and amount of tension to target any specific area along your spinal column. Traction is then used to separate the vertebrae, relieving pressure on the injured disc. This in turn may cause a bulging disc to retract and can also help to improve absorption of oxygen, water, and nutrients needed to promote healing.

When will I see results?

Many spinal decompression patients experience immediate pain relief following their first treatment. To keep the pain away and promote healing, patients may return for additional treatments up to 20 times over a period of weeks or months. Additional physical therapy may also be prescribed to be carried out during a 45-60 minute session that also includes traction.

A safe, inexpensive alternative.

Compared to the physical, mental, and financial costs of spinal surgery, spinal decompression has proven to be a great alternative for tens of thousands of patients every year. Your Littleton chiropractor can help you determine if this is a viable treatment for your back or neck issue. Contact Arne Wellness center today to get started!
